Bioseeding - The second most important new thing to know about
Bioseeeding is the simple process of taking donor "mojo" filter muck, and beneficial bacteria from a donor pond to a recipient (new) pond. Have your filter running in the recipient pond. Put a fairly abundant amount of filter muck in the new pond. Your new filter will suck it up and Voila! A complete nitrogen cycle. Don't get fish infected (there's a way) and watch pH afterwards, it tends to sag.
